Fraternity & Sorority Life at UNC Asheville promotes the personal, social, intellectual, and ethical development of all its chapter members. Fraternities and sororities are affiliated groups of their international organizations. The advancement of our community at UNC Asheville is an ongoing effort to keep the fraternity & sorority experience relevant to student success and an integral part of the campus life.
At UNC Asheville, our Fraternity & Sorority Life works to:
- Provide education and experience in interpersonal relationships, leadership, group dynamics, and organization development
- Promote member involvement in co-curricular activities
- Promote sponsorship of and participation in community service, service learning, and philanthropic projects
- Promote an appreciation for differences and development of cross-cultural competencies
- Recognize and encourage learning experiences that occur as a result of a diverse fraternity and sorority community
- Advocate for academic success of all members and for opportunities through which students can integrate in-class and out-of-class learning
- Support members’ efforts to align actions with espoused organizational mission and values
